• 16^th January 1991 (29^th Jumada al-Thanni 1411) - Gulf War: United States begins bombing Iraq in Operation Desert Storm, which began following Operation Desert Shield.

• 1^st September 1970 (29^th Jumada al-Thanni 1390) - several attempts to kill King Hussein of Jordan failed

• Lewis Tapan, the cheif abolitionist wrote in a letter on 9^th September 1839 (29^th Jumada al-Thanni 1255) confirms the Amistad prisoners were muslims.
