Inbound Links are the search engines way of determining peoples estimation of a site. If a site A links to site B then the search engines consider it a vote or thumbs up for site B.

An estimation (and it is just an estimation) of a sites value for a particular search is their page rank. the higher the page rank the greater the search engines see its importance. You can view the individual page ranks for sites listed in a google search by installing a fire fox add on SEQ Quake

SEO Quake will also enable you to click on a page and determine how many outbound links, what the page rank is and if it is no follow. If the outbound links are "no follow" it is a message to Google not to transfer some of the page rank (juice) from site A to the site it is linking to Site B

• On a more advanced level , install seo quake, and inspect the pages you will ask a link from, to see if they have a good page ranking and their outbound links are NOT no-follow
